Treatment of Femoral Shaft Fractures in Children Using the “Tobruk” Method

O'Donnell and colleagues present radiological and and clinical data from 118 patients treated with the "Tobruk" method over a 3-year period. They have found plaster-of-Paris augmentation of a Thomas’ splint to be a relatively safe and effective way of treating these fractures in children.

Fixation of Unstable Distal Radius Fractures With Intrafocal Pins and Trans-Styloid Augmentation: A Retrospective Review and Radiographic Analysis

This technique was found to be highly effective and safe, achieving restoration of radiographic parameters, excellent fracture reduction, and good functional outcomes.

Bilateral Galeazzi Fracture-Dislocations

Dr. Borens and colleagues treated a motorcyclist who sustained bilateral Galeazzi fracture-dislocations with an irreducible distal radioulnar joint on one side. They describe the surgical technique used and recommendations for optimal management strategies for acute TFCC lesions in the setting of a Galeazzi fracture.


Tethered Lateral Patellar Dislocation as a Complication After Galeazzi Procedure

A modified reduction maneuver and a short period of immobilization followed by appropriate rehabilitation are prescribed by the authors for this complication.
